Mrs. Jennings became the Founder and CEO of Shekinah Communities, Inc., in 2014. She served as the director of Harmony House in 1992, which initially provided service to dual diagnosed individuals.
She has led earnest work and conviction to assisting the chemically dependent and some homeless individuals. It was recognized through the initial endowment of a state grant from the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for chemical dependency treatment in August of 1993. In 1994 she served as the Executive Director of Up To Me Inc. in Austin until 2004.
Since then, Mrs. Jennings has continued her commitment to providing services to adult individuals mostly embroiled in the state of treatment facilities.
She has been instrumental in obtaining and collaborating with community organizations. In 1999, her endeavors were further recognized when she was awarded the Trailblazer Award by the Austin Black Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Jennings is listed in the National Registry of Who’s Who in Community Service.
